Daybrook Fisheries

Digital Transformation of a Physical Commodity Business

Summary

Daybrook Fisheries (now part of Oceania) is a vertically integrated company that catches and processes menhaden into fishmeal and fish oil products. As part of Oceania Group, Daybrook is the largest commercial fishing operations of its kind in the country and one of the largest in the world. Daybrook’s vessels are responsible for some 40% of the Gulf of Mexico’s yearly menhaden catch.

Daybrook needed an advanced software system to match their high-level operations. Their current reporting was done by hand in more than five systems. There was no way to integrate fish tickets, fleet management, inventory, accounting and sales until Carrollon’s team built these out. Over the years we have expanded the capabilities extensively and added new features and whole systems.

Daybrook has grown consistently year-over-year even in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Louisiana Sportsman Magazine referred to Daybrook as a “near-perfect fishery” due to their sustainable and virtually waste-less processing methods and low rates of incidental by-catch.
